As spring ball slowly approaches its end, teams are making their first round of cuts.
The San Diego Padres made their own cuts, cutting 11 players, including young international prospect catcher Ethan Salas.

The Padres cut eight pitchers, one catcher in Salas, and two infielders, Marcos Castãnon and Nathan Martorella.
The Friars now have 50 players remaining in Major League camp. With the regular season slowly approaching, that number will come down in the coming days and weeks.
Salas, 17, was invited to spring training a month ago and did well. He slashed .286/.333/.429 with a .762 OPS, zero home runs, one RBI, two hits, and four strikeouts in six games and seven ABs. He may be too young now, but before we know it, he will be one of the Frairs' best players in no time.
The regular season roster is slowly shaping up. There are only ten days before the team heads to Seoul, South Korea, to start their much anticipated 2024 season.
