Jakob Marsee and Jackson Merrill highlight the San Diego Padres split squad game at American Family Field on Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Both Marsee and Merrill are fighting for an Opening Day roster spot and are playing left and center field.

The game is slated for a 12:10 p.m. PT start and will be broadcast on MLB.com.

Predictions

The young Padres are squaring off against a veteran Milwaukee lineup featuring Christian Yelich and Rhys Hoskins.

Unfortunately, the split squad most likely won't win this one. Brewers should win this one, 7-3.

More

Despite manager Mike Shildt telling reporters on Thursday that Manny Machado would DH on Friday, that is not the case.

Both Shildt and Machado feel like he will get more work done in the cages than in two or three Cactus League at-bats.
