The San Diego Padres ended up tying with the Chicago White Sox today by a score of 1-1. It was a low-scoring affair between both sides but showed that the Padres pitching staff is performing well.

Right-hander Matt Waldron went 4.1 innings against Chicago, giving up one run, seven hits and striking out three batters. He continued his strong spring and made his case even more to be in the San Diego starting rotation.

The Padres relief options did well as Enyel De Los Santos, Robert Suárez, Wandy Peralta and Steven Wilson all pitched one inning of shutout work. They held the White Sox in check, only allowing four hits over the final 4.2 innings.

Third baseman Manny Machado went 3-3 on the day, driving in the only run for the Padres. He continues to show his bat works just fine as he recovers from offseason elbow surgery.

Overall, it was a decent performance from the team and they showed how dominant they can be pitching-wise. Xander Bogaerts added in one hit, going 1-3 on the day.

Next up for San Diego is a matchup with the Los Angeles Angels tomorrow, with the first pitch scheduled for 1:10 pm PT.
