The San Diego Padres got some bad news about their young left-hander MacKenzie Gore.

Gore was forced to exit last night’s game against the Detroit Tigers in the fifth inning after feeling discomfort in his elbow.

He allowed two runs in relief of Sean Manaea, and his ERA jumped up to 4.50 as a result.

On a 2-0 pitch that brushed Riley Greene off the plate, Gore was pulled.

Padres insider Dennis Lin tweeted an update on Gore’s status, which was the bad news of the day for the team.

Lin quoted Gore, who said that it wasn’t just that one pitch to Greene, and that he had been feeling pain throughout the inning.

More Bad News On Gore

This is not good news for the Padres and it’s more tough luck for Gore, who just can’t seem to stay healthy and off the injured list.

That only adds insult to injury, given that the Padres ended up losing the game by a final of 12-4 to the team with the second-worst record in the American League.

It certainly wasn’t a banner night for the Padres.

Now, they’ll await updates on Gore, who will see team doctors after the Padres make their return to San Diego.

He has dealt with a ton of injuries at such an early stage in his career.

It’s unfortunate that he has been unable to stay healthy.

The Padres are very high on Gore and believe that he could be a key piece of their pitching staff in the coming years.

Losing him is a tremendous blow.

We’ll see how the Padres weather this storm and what the team doctors find out about Gore when the team returns home.
