The San Diego Padres are off to a good start in 2022.

We’re now a month into the regular season and San Diego is tied for first place in the NL West with the Los Angeles Dodgers, sporting a record of 15-8.

But even through the grind of the season, there’s always some fun to be had by baseball players.

On Sunday afternoon, before their game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Padres’ pitchers had a little fun.

When the starting pitchers were taking a walk and preparing for the series finale, staff ace Yu Darvish was seen making a slight adjustment to his cap.

The rest of the Padres starters copied that move, sparking some laughs between the five men.

Follow The Leader!

They always say follow the leader.

Darvish is the veteran in San Diego.

He has been around the longest of any of those starters, so they’ll do whatever he says.

He’ll be the one to keep them all in line.

But this is fun to see.

Baseball is a game of focus and discipline, but it’s also meant to be fun at the end of the day.

There has to be some form of levity and humor amidst the constant grind and wear and tear.

The most important thing is that guys have fun and the Padres’ starting rotation were certainly enjoying themselves while copying Darvish’s little move.

As the veteran, Darvish made sure to keep things loose.

It’s what you want to see out of ballplayers aside from that focus and discipline.

It’s a brotherhood at the end of the day, and it’s always nice to see players enjoying each other’s company out on the field.
