The San Diego Padres continue to look for additions to the roster before the new season starts, including the outfield position. Right now, they only have a select few available, so the front office has been searching for more talent.

One name that has been connected to the Padres is free-agent Tommy Pham. Pham spent two seasons with the Padres in 2020 and 2021, so he is familiar with the franchise.

FanSided's Robert Murray has reported that the team is still looking at potentially adding Pham.

"The Padres continue to explore the outfield market with Tommy Pham being one player of interest. Pham and the Padres are familiar with one another; he spent two seasons recently in San Diego and has a good relationship with executive A.J. Preller. But Pham is looking to capitalize on a strong season in which he hit .256/.328/.446 with 16 home runs and 68 RBI and is looking for regular playing time."

However, there is a catch when it comes it the two sides agreeing on a deal. Right now, San Diego isn't willing to meet the demands of Pham on a contract.

"So far, the Padres have been unwilling to meet Pham’s demands"

Per Robert Murray of FanSided

Pham would bring more of a veteran experience to the table, and he could help develop some of the younger players on the roster. After a successful run to the World Series with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Pham is looking to cash in. But it remains to be seen if any deal will come to fruition.
