With the MVP Award winners set to be revealed tomorrow night on MLB Network, one candidate for the National League MVP Award has taken home yet another impressive accolade for the 2022 season.

St. Louis Cardinals slugger Paul Goldschmidt, who appears to be the favorite to win the award, was given the award for Heart and Hustle.

The Heart and Hustle Award is the only award that is voted on by MLB Player Alumni, which honors active players who demonstrate passion for the game and best embody the values, spirit, and tradition of the game.

Goldschmidt was a five-time recipient of the Arizona Diamondbacks Heart and Hustle Award.

This is his first Heart and Hustle Award as a member of the Cardinals.

Goldy Wins Heart And Hustle Award

Goldschmidt recorded 178 total hits during the 2022 season, hitting .317 with 35 home runs and 115 RBI.

Goldschmidt earned his fifth Silver Slugger award and was selected as a National League All-Star for the seventh time in his career, receiving the fan vote to start at first base.

Goldschmidt has been active in the St. Louis community since being acquired by the Cardinals prior to the 2019 season.

The 35-year-old sponsored a youth clinic at Busch Stadium in the summer of 2022, which he led alongside eight MLBPA alumni members.

Goldschmidt was also nominated for the Roberto Clemente Award.

He is an MVP candidate alongside his Cardinals teammate in Nolan Arenado.

Goldschmidt joins David Eckstein and Albert Pujols as one of only three Cardinals players who have been selected as the final winner of the Heart and Hustle Award.
