As much as the Tampa Bay Rays want to change their losing ways at George M. Steinbrenner Field this season, that didn't happen on Tuesday night. Nick Castellanos put on a show, hitting a home run and driving in four runs as the Philadelphia Phillies pulled out an 8-4 victory.

Kyle Schwarber and Alec Bohm also slammed home runs for the Phillies. Zack Wheeler (3-1) kept Tampa Bay hitters off-stride for seven innings en route to the victory. He scattered four hits while not walking a batter and striking out nine Tampa Bay hitters.

The Phillies held a 3-2 lead entering the eighth inning when Castellanos slammed a three-run homer.

That put the Phillies up 6-2 at the time. Castellanos finished the game going 3-for-5 with four RBIs. Schwarber added three hits and two RBIs for the Philadelphia offense, The Associated Press reported.

Phillies' Kyle Schwarber extends on-base streak to 41 straight games in beating Rays

Schwarber has been light's out for the Phillies recently. He's reached base safely in 41 straight games, which is the longest active streak in MLB.

For Bohm, his two-run homer in the second inning was his first long ball since Sept. 20, 2024. Bryce Harper and Trea Turner added two hits apiece for the Phillies, who have now won seven of their last nine games.

Tampa Bay got some bad news during the game. Yandy Diaz, who hit a two-homer off Wheeler in the fourth inning, left the game in the home half of the sixth inning.

He appeared to pull something or injure himself after taking an awkward swing. Christopher Morel came on to pinch hit for Diaz, flying out to end the sixth.

Rays starter Drew Rasmussen (1-3) took the loss.

On Wednesday, Tampa Bay sends right-hander Shane Baz (3-1, 3.86 ERA) up against Phillies' left-hander Cristopher Sánchez (3-1, 3.45).
