The Philadelphia Phillies lost to the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night by a score of 7-5. It's the second loss in a row for Philadelphia against Milwaukee and their third straight defeat overall.

Because the Cubs also lost, the Phillies remain 2.5 games up in the battle for the top wild card spot in the National League. The Brewers now lead the battle for the National League Central by 4.5 games.

Even though the Phillies lost the game, powerful slugger Kyle Schwarber joined the top of an illustrious list in team history.

Per @StatsCentre on social media:

Most home runs to lead off a game - Single season by a player in @Phillies franchise history (1883-present):

9- Kyle Schwarber (2023 via going yard to start off his team's game vs the Brewers tonight)

9- Jimmy Rollins (2007)

7- Schwarber (2022)

6- Rollins (2012)

5- Rollins (2009)

Rollins is one of the most beloved and decorated players in Phillies history, so to be atop a list with him is quite an accomplishment.

One of the most powerful hitters in all of baseball, Schwarber now has 39 home runs and 88 RBI. He's hitting just .191 but is finding a way to contribute in a big way. He's got an OPS of an even .800.

Lifetime, he's in his ninth year in the big leagues with the Cubs, Nationals, Red Sox and Phillies. He's a career .227 hitter with 238 homers and 532 RBI. He helped the Cubs win the 2016 World Series.

The Phillies and Brewers will play again on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. ET.
