The Philadelphia Phillies designated right-hander Ricardo Pinto for assignment on Sunday.

The move was necessary to make room for Sunday's starter Taijuan Walker on the 26-man roster.

Pinto, 30, posted a 10.97 ERA with one save and no decisions in six relief appearances this season.

He allowed 14 runs (13 earned) with eight strikeouts and five walks in 10 2/3 innings.

Pinto previously pitched for Philly in 2017 and the Tampa Bay Rays in 2019. He is 1-2 with a 9.07 ERA in 33 games (no starts).
