With the Philadelphia Phillies searching for final roster additions prior to the 2024 season, there are plenty of directions they can still go.

Besides their bullpen looking like it has clear needs, it's been the starting pitcher market where the Phillies have really been monitoring closely. Nothing has come out of it to date, but there were able to add a former Atlanta Braves first round talent.

Some of their former players were also littered across the market looking for their next team.

There was some speculation that maybe a reunion was in store for either Hector Neris or Matt Moore based on the pitching profiles Philadelphia is looking to add.

However, a reunion with the left-handed Moore is now off the table after he reportedly agreed to a one-year, $9 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.

The 34-year-old signed with the Angels last offseason as well and performed at an elite level, posting an ERA of 2.66 across his 41 appearances.

However, he was part of their payroll dump when it was clear they were no longer in playoff contention, and was placed on waivers.

Moore was claimed by the Cleveland Guardians before being placed on waivers by them after five games and getting picked up by the Miami Marlins.

The lefty signed with the Phillies before the 2021 season as his first team in his Major League comeback after spending 2020 with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan.

He recorded a disappointing 6.29 ERA across 24 appearances and 13 starts.

Moore transitioned into a full-time reliever role the following year with the Texas Rangers and has become one of the best left-handed options in the game with ERA's of 1.95 and 2.56 in back-to-back seasons.
