Phillies reliever David Robertson to miss NLDS after injuring himself celebrating

The Philadelphia Phillies will be without relief pitcher David Robertson for the NLDS after he injured himself celebrating Bryce Harper's Game 2 home run in the Wild Card round.

According to manager Rob Thomson, Robertson suffered a strained calf during his celebration that will require him to miss the entire series against the Atlanta Braves.

Thomson said that Robertson is "devastated" by the injury.

The Phillies acquired the 37-year-old Robertson during the season in a trade with the Chicago Cubs. In 22 appearances with the Phillies, he has a 2.70 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 23 innings.

For the entire season with the two teams, his ERA is 2.40 in 58 appearances.

He made one appearance in the Wild Card round against St. Louis, pitching one inning and striking out two batters.

He has been one of the Phillies' best relief pitchers so it is obviously going to be a big blow to their bullpen against the defending World Series champions.
