Bryce Harper made it known during the offseason that he wants to finish his career with the Philadelphia Phillies. Harper still has eight years remaining on his 13-year, $330 million contract.

It's uncertain the amount that he's looking for, but he's continuously said that he wants to stay with the Phillies, and the front office has backed those comments.

Managing partner John Middleton confirmed that again during the press conference for Zack Wheeler, saying that his goal is for Harper to retire in Philadelphia.

Wheeler signed a three-year, $126 million contract extension on Monday, keeping him with the core of the team for the foreseeable future.

Could this be a sign that the Phillies are open to extending Harper soon?

It's possible, but those talks haven't happened yet, according to what Harper had to say to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com

Despite not landing his own extension, the former MVP couldn't be more excited to have Wheeler and Aaron Nola be a the top of their rotation.

"Having the opportunity to have a 1-2 punch with Wheels and Noles, there's not much like it in baseball," he said.

Harper added that there are two other guys still out there right now, hinting that the front office potentially be interested in Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery.

Dave Dombrowski said he likes the current rotation when asked about Harper's comments. However, it's interesting to see the face of the franchise vouch for more.

As currently constructed, Philadelphia has more than enough to win the World Series.

With Wheeler, Nola, Harper, and Trea Turner locked in for the future, they should have more than enough to get the job done during the next few seasons.
