The MLB DREAM Series takes place this weekend at Tempe Diablo Stadium in Arizona.

It is an event focused on the dynamics of pitching and catching for a diverse group of high school baseball stars, predominantly African-American, from across the country.

The event typically takes place during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.

Cincinnati Reds right-hander Hunter Greene was one of the first players to ever compete in this event, having done so in 2017, when it was first founded.

On Twitter, Bob Nightengale of USA Today posted a photo of Greene and former New York Mets manager Jerry Manuel serving as instructors for the youth baseball stars.

Obviously, this event’s primary focus is the development of African-American high school athletes, so it’s good to see two prominent MLB figures devoting their time to help these young stars reach their potential.

Greene and Manuel here are giving back to the community and doing what they can to help create an equal opportunity in sports for people in all demographics.

This is also a fantastic way to grow the game and expand its reach.

Greene also has a unique opportunity to share his experience from several years ago and teach some valuable lessons about the game and what it means to compete in such an event.

The 23-year-old made his MLB debut in 2022 and was a key member of the Reds pitching staff.

Greene certainly learned a lot during his time at the DREAM Series several years ago, and now has a chance to serve as a mentor for young athletes.
