The Pittsburgh Pirates are celebrating the 40th anniversary of their last World Series title Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies.

They are doing so in style, bringing back one of the coolest MLB uniforms of the funky 1970s. Check them out in all of their glory.

How groovy. The yellow hats and the yellow writing is as clean as all get out. The stripes make it even better. We’re not sure why Pittsburgh doesn’t go back to these uniforms full-time.

The 1979 version of these Pirates came back from a 3-1 series deficit to defeat the Baltimore Orioles, 4-3.

Eventual Hall of Famer Willie Stargell earned World Series MVP honors.
