The Pittsburgh Pirates activated third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday.

Hayes, 25, has not played since Aug. 11 due to a mid-back muscle strain.

He is batting .251 with six home runs, 44 runs, 35 RBIs and 13 stolen bases in 103 games in his second full season in the majors.

The Pirates optioned infielder Kevin Padlo to Triple-A Indianapolis and announced that catcher Jose Godoy cleared waivers and accepted his assignment to Indy.

Padlo, 26, was 0 for 11 at the plate in three games with the Pirates. Godoy, 27, was 0 for 7 with one RBI across five games for Pittsburgh.
