Pitcher Bryse Wilson gave the Pittsburgh Pirates a solid start, and Ke'Bryan Hayes hit a two-run homer in an 8-1 victory Sunday over host Baltimore, snapping the Orioles' five-game winning streak.

Wilson (2-6) logged five innings for his first victory in his past five starts. He gave up one run and four hits on Sunday, with no walks and five strikeouts.

Five of Pittsburgh's runs came courtesy of two-out hits, capped by Hayes' home run in a four-run seventh inning. For the game, the Pirates went 5-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

Michael Chavis drove in a run and had two hits for the Pirates, who avoided a three-game series sweep. Bryan Reynolds had two hits and scored two runs.

Jorge Mateo had a home run among his two hits for the Orioles.

After Wilson left the game for the Pirates, Eric Stout, Colin Holderman and Yerry De Los Santos combined to work the last four innings without surrendering a hit.

Orioles starter Spenser Watkins (4-2) took the loss, allowing four runs on four hits in 5 1/3 innings.

The Orioles began the scoring on Mateo's home run leading off the third inning, giving him 11 homers this season and three in a current five-game stretch.

Pittsburgh went ahead in the fifth, with Greg Allen and Cal Mitchell providing RBI singles and Jose Godoy driving in a run with a fielder's-choice grounder.

The Pirates' lead grew to 4-1 in the sixth on Chavis' two-out RBI single.

With two outs in the seventh, Kevin Newman's infield single knocked in another run, followed by Reynolds' RBI single before Hayes' blast.

The seventh inning also involved the ejection of Orioles manager Brandon Hyde after an out call at the plate was reversed on video review.
