The Pittsburgh Pirates activated Tyler Heineman and placed fellow catcher Zack Collins on the 10-day injured list Sunday.

Heineman, out since Sept. 23, returned from the seven-day concussion injured list and was in the starting lineup against the host St. Louis Cardinals.

Heineman, 31, has batted .222 with eight RBIs in 49 games since being claimed off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays on May 16.

Collins, who also plays first base, has a non-COVID illness.

The 27-year-old is 1-for-25 at the plate with one RBI in 10 games since being claimed off waivers -- also from the Blue Jays -- on Sept. 7.
