The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed left-handed reliever Ryan Borucki on the 15-day injured list with left triceps inflammation. Borucki’s stint on the IL is retroactive to Apr. 6.

Taking his place on the roster will be fellow left-hander Jose Hernandez, who was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Borucki was tagged with a pair of runs in the Pirates’ 5-4 win over the Orioles on Saturday. He’s made four appearances on the season and has allowed two runs on four hits to go along with six strikeouts.

This will be Hernandez’s second stint with the Pirates this season. He was added to the opening day roster in place of Roansy Contreras, who went on the paternity list to start the season.

During his first stint with the Pirates, Hernandez made a pair of scoreless appearances and earned his first major-league save on opening day against the Miami Marlins.

In addition, infielder/outfielder Ji Hwan Bae started a rehab assignment with Low-A Bradenton. Bae has been sidelined with a left hip muscle strain.
