It was an exciting week of baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates, who completed a seven-game stretch against two teams looking to make noise in the playoff hunt.

The Pirates split a four-game series with the Atlanta Braves in a back-and-forth series before dropping two out of three to the Cincinnati Reds.

As things currently stand, Pittsburgh is 53-65 and are in fourth place in the National League Central.

Here are the club’s top three performers from their seven-game homestand.

Third star: Liover Peguero – .350/.381/.550, 7 for 20, one double, one home run, five RBIs, one steal, six games

Peguero did a little bit of everything for the Pirates this week as he continues to perform well at the plate. He showed off his hitting ability, his power and his speed.

He hit his fourth homer of the season in the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Reds.

Second star:  Bryan Reynolds – .310/.394/.655, 9 for 29, one double, three home runs, three RBIs, seven games

Reynolds continued to stay hot at the plate and was a major contributor in terms of getting on base and doing damage.

His strong week was capped off with a two-homer game against Cincinnati on Sunday night.

First star: Ke’Bryan Hayes – .409/.435/.955, 9 for 22, one double, one triple, three home runs, 10 RBIs, six games

Hayes turned in one of his best stretches of play in the big leagues and drove in an eye-opening 10 runs in six games, only five of which were starts.

The Bucs’ third baseman flashed his usual good defense, but his bat stole the show.

This week, the Pirates set out on a six-game road trip to play the New York Mets and Minnesota Twins.

Check back next week for the Pirates’ top three performers from the week ahead.
