Curtis Mead was born in Adelaide, Australia, on October 26, 2000. Against Australia he played in 35 games and slashed .309/.373/.485 with a .859 OPS; he had six doubles, six home runs, 18 RBI, 21 runs scored, five stolen bases, and 12 walks.

2020

The 2020 minor league season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He did play in Australia playing in 22 games and slashed .347/.382/.569 with a .951 OPS; he had seven doubles, three triples, 12 RBI, 11 runs scored, two stolen bases, and three walks.

2021

Mead was acquired by the Tampa Bay Rays, and he played at Single-A Charleston, High-A Bowling Green, and Triple-A Durham. He played in 104 games and slashed .321/.378/.533 with a .911 OPS; he had 38 doubles, two triples, 15 home runs, 69 RBI, 77 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, and 34 walks. In the fall he played for the Arizona Fall League for Scottsdale, in 20 games he slashed .313/.360/.530 with a .890 OPS; he had five doubles, two triples, three home runs, 11 RBI, 16 runs scored, one stolen base, and four walks.


2022

Mead was ranked by Baseball America as the 97th overall prospect. He played for Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham. He played in 76 games and slashed .298/.390/.532 with a .922 OPS; he had 27 doubles, 13 home runs, 50 RBI, 43 runs scored, seven stolen bases, and 36 walks. He played in the Futures Game going 0-3 with a strikeout.

He played for the Rays rookie league team and Triple-A Durham appearing in 65 games and slashed .287/.377/.502 with a .879 OPS; he had 22 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, 49 RBI, 41 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 36 walks. He also made his big league debut for the Rays playing in 24 games and he slashed .253/.326/.349 with a .676 OPS; he had three doubles, one triple, one home run, five RBI, 12 runs scored, and seven walks.

ITD ranks Mead as the 57th overall prospect and the Mets third-ranked prospect. He will likely start 2024 at Triple-A.
