Masyn Winn was born in Katy, Texas, on March 21, 2002. He played high school baseball at Kingwood High School in Kingwood, TX. He was the top-ranked shortstop in Texas and the second-overall player in the state in 2020. Winn in his junior year on the mound went 13-0 with a 0.67 ERA and 117 strikeouts in 76.1 innings, he also hit .417 with eight home runs and 46 RBI. In 2020 he was suspended for the first 12 games due to an infraction of team rules and only played in one game before the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Winn was the second-ranked shortstop and the 11th overall player in the country. He committed to play college baseball at the University of Arkansas.

Winn was the 54th-ranked prospect entering the 2020 draft and would be selected in the second round by the St. Louis Cardinals.

2021

In Winn’s first season, he played at Single-A Palm Beach and High-A Peoria. He played in 98 games and slashed .242/.324/.356 with a .680 OPS; he had 19 doubles, five triples, five home runs, 44 RBI, 76 runs scored, 32 stolen bases, and 46 walks.

2022

Winn played for High-A Peoria and Double-A Springfield and in 119 games he slashed .283/.364/.468 with a .832 OPS; he had 36 doubles, eight triples, 12 home runs, 63 RBI, 91 runs scored, 43 stolen bases, and 63 walks. He played in the Futures Game going 0-2 with two strikeouts. He would play in the Arizona Fall League as well playing for Salt River and in 20 games he slashed .294/.407/.353 with a .760 OPS; he had one double, one home run, nine RBI, ten runs scored, nine stolen bases, and 13 walks.

Winn entered the season as the 48th-ranked prospect by Baseball America and the 50th-ranked prospect by MLB.com. He played in 105 games at Triple-A Memphis slashing .288/.359/.474 with a .834 OPS; he had 15 doubles, seven triples, 18 home runs, 61 RBI, 99 runs scored, 17 stolen bases, and 44 walks. He also made his big-league debut playing in 37 games for the Cardinals and he slashed .172/.230/.238 with a .467 OPS; he had two doubles, two home runs, 12 RBI, eight runs scored, two stolen bases, and ten walks.

Future                                                                   

ITD ranks Winn as the 47th overall prospect and the Cardinals top-ranked prospect. He will likely start 2024 in the big leagues.
