The San San Diego Padres have been making a number of roster moves over the past couple of weeks as the try to find some consistency and also pinpoint any guys that have stepped up while others are injured.

On the flip side, they have also been able to see who clearly does not fit in with the clubhouse and whose contributions have been little to none. Adam Engel fell into that pot as it only took five games with the major league squad to see that he likely would not be a part of their future as he saw no success at the plate.

Engel was released from San Diego the same day that Jose Azocar came off of the IL from his elbow injury.

However, it didn't take very long for another squad to be attracted to Engel's services and make a move for him.

The Seattle Mariners opted to bring him in on a minor league deal and have him starting out his stint with the franchise in games with the Tacoma Rainiers. This news was first reported by the Rainiers' broadcaster Mike Curto.

"Mariners have acquired veteran outfielder Adam Engel and he is in Tacoma's lineup tonight."

Engel is still just 31-years-old and suited up in 119 games for the Boston Red Sox in 2022 where he batted .224 and recorded 17 RBI's. There definitely could still be a Major League role for him out there and we wish him the best of luck moving forward.
