Trey Mancini may be one of the least talked about free agents out on the market.

After being traded from the Baltimore Orioles to the Houston Astros, Mancini earned his first World Series ring after batting back from a bout with colon cancer in 2020.

The Astros chose not to exercise his club option, making him a free agent.

The slugger hit .239 with 18 home runs and 63 RBI with Baltimore and Houston.

But Mancini’s power and ability to play in the outfield and at first base could make him an attractive option for a team looking to add a key bat.

On Twitter, a fan of the Boston Red Sox had an interesting take on Mancini after the Astros made their deal with Jose Abreu official.

Red Sox Fan Gives Take On Mancini

This fan has some interesting points.

Mancini can play in the outfield and at first base.

In addition to that, he could be a designated hitter option.

The Red Sox could certainly use a big bat in their lineup.

He has also posted some excellent numbers in American League East ballparks, especially at Fenway Park during his time with the Orioles.

The 30-year-old would almost certainly come at a cheaper cost than somebody like Abreu, who was signed by the Astros for $60 million over three years.

The Red Sox could also have him fulfill multiple roles.

If they were to use him at first base, he would be a significant upgrade over Bobby Dalbec and Eric Hosmer.

Mancini may come off the board at a later date, but he would be a valuable piece for any team.
