The Boston Red Sox got some good news Monday afternoon.

Boston had a mini scare Sunday night as outfielder Jarren Duran was forced to leave the club's win over the New York Yankees due to a left toe contusion but he reportedly won't miss much time if any, according to MassLive.com's Christopher Smith.

"Outfielder Jarren Duran is expected to be fine after he left the Red Sox's 6-5 win over the Yankees on Sunday with a left toe contusion, sources told MassLive on Monday morning," Smith said. "He’s considered day-to-day. Duran was removed after his eighth-inning at-bat for precautionary reasons.

"No X-rays were taken. The Red Sox did not feel it was necessary to fly a Triple-A Worcester position player to Houston on Monday to meet up with the team and be part of the taxi squad just in case."

Duran has been a revelation so far this season for the Red Sox. The speedy outfielder began the 2023 campaign in the minor leagues after failing to nab a big league spot to open the season. Once slugger Adam Duvall went down with an injury, Duran was called back up to the big leagues and clearly has taken a massive step forward.

The 26-year-old has been one of Boston's most impressive players this season and is slashing .295/.346/.482 to go along with eight home runs, 40 RBIs, and a team-leading 24 stolen bases. If Duran were to miss an extended period, it likely would negatively impact the club's chances of nabbing a postseason spot. Luckily, it sounds like he will be okay.
