Reds activate former Silver Slugger Donovan Solano from IL
Cincinnati Reds infielder Donovan Solano will make his season debut for the team on Wednesday against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers. Solano was activated off the 60-day injured list on Tuesday after being shelved with a hamstring injury.
The Reds signed Solano in March to help bolster their infield — and their lineup — but will only now see what he can do for the team. The 34-year-old Colombian is coming off a successful three-season campaign with the San Francisco Giants, winning a Silver Slugger for his performance in the truncated 2020 season when he slashed .326/.365/.463 with 29 RBI and 62 hits in just 54 games played.
Solano isn't the only player to make a late debut for the Reds this season, with a whopping 50 coming in and out of the lineup so far in 2022.
Cincinnati is looking to snap a five-game losing skid. The Reds currently sit in last place in the NL Central.
