Nothing changes the fact that the Cincinnati Reds got off to a miserable start.
However, things may have changed ever so slightly.
The Reds have now won back-to-back series, with their most recent being against the NL Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers.
In fact, according to a Reds insider on Twitter, after going 3-22 and scoring 79 runs through the first 25 games, the Reds have flipped the script slightly.
In their past six games, they have gone 4-2 and have scored 49 runs over the course of their recent homestand.
Though the team is still 7-25 and own the worst record in all of baseball, they’ve turned it up a notch.
Reds Finally Winning Some Games
Does this undo the horrible start the Reds got off to?
No.
Will they find their way back to contention now that they’ve started winning some ballgames?
Most likely not.
But it certainly beats getting absolutely destroyed every time they step out onto the field.
It’s not going to change much, but it’s better to win at least some ballgames.
It has to feel a little bit better for Reds fans to see them at least pull off a few wins, especially back-to-back series wins, with the latter having been against the first-place Brewers.
Still, it’s not going to change the fact that fans are absolutely furious with the team’s front office and ownership group.
The team’s president, Phil Castellini, still made some controversial comments and even winning a few series isn’t going to be enough to draw more fans back to the ballpark.
Reds fans still aren’t going to get much bang for their buck by showing up to the ballpark, as chances are that the Reds will still lose most of their games.
