Reds troll Curt Schilling after online feud with Trevor Bauer

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Trevor Bauer certainly can hold his own in the Twitter universe when discussing ongoing negotiations between MLB owners and the MLB Players Association or debating who does or doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame.

The Reds nevertheless had Bauer's back on Wednesday.

As noted by Fansided's Mark Powell, three-time World Series champion Curt Schilling came out on the losing end of an online war of words with Bauer after Schilling mocked how Bauer suffered a serious hand injury while playing with a drone ahead of a 2016 American League Championship Series start:

Bauer noted that, despite that setback, he and the Cleveland Indians nevertheless advanced to the World Series. Bauer also dropped some statistical knowledge on his overmatched foe:

Without directly referencing the spat between the pitchers, the Reds poked fun at Schilling on Wednesday by remembering a June 24, 1996 game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Cincinnati:

The Reds chased Schilling from the outing before the end of the fourth inning en route to a 7-0 win. 

Schilling has since deleted his Twitter account.
