Reds' Wade Miley tosses MLB's fourth no-hitter of season: 'It feels surreal'
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Wade Miley tossed Major League Baseball's fourth no-hitter of the season on Friday en route to a 3-0 win over the Cleveland Indians.
"It feels surreal,'' Miley said after the win, according to ESPN.
Miley struck out eight batters on 114 pitches, allowing just one walk and another runner to reach base on an error.
Friday night marked the third complete game of Miley's career and first since throwing a five-hit shutout against the Kansas City Royals in 2016. The 34-year-old became the first Reds pitcher since Homer Bailey in 2013 to throw a no-hitter.
Cleveland has now been no-hit twice this season, with Chicago White Sox pitcher Carlos Rodon being the last to hold the Indians hitless on April 15.
Miley joins Rodon, Joe Musgrove and John Means as pitchers to throw no-hitters this season. The last time the league saw four or more no-hitters by May 7 was in 1917 when there were five.
