Report: Didi Gregorius, Phillies agree to two-year, $28 million deal

The Philadelphia Phillies and shortstop Didi Gregorius agreed to a two-year, $28 million deal on Saturday, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

Gregorius spent the pandemic-shortened campaign with the Phillies after five years with the New York Yankees. The 30-year-old slashed .284/.339/.488 with 10 home runs and 40 RBI in 60 games.

Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski has been quite busy this winter. In addition to re-signing Gregorius, he added relievers Archie Bradley and Jose Alvarado. He also re-signed veteran catcher J.T. Realmuto.

Philadelphia was reportedly interested in Andrelton Simmons and Freddy Galvis, but with Gregorius re-signed, it wouldn't make sense for Dombrowski to pursue either of those players any longer.
