Report: Giants, Dodgers interested in Reds INF Brandon Drury
In the middle of a career year, Cincinnati Reds infielder Brandon Drury has begun to draw trade interest, with the deadline right around the corner.
According to NBC Sports Bay Area, the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers are in the market for Drury's services.
Earlier in the week, SNY's Andy Martino reported that the Dodgers and Giants were "showing more interest" in Drury than other teams needing infield help.
Having arguably the best season of his career, Drury was one of the more egregious omissions from this year's National League All-Star squad.
This season for the Reds, Drury is batting .280/.338/.535 with 18 home runs and 51 RBI. Drury is currently riding an eight-game hitting streak.
The 29-year-old is in his eighth major league season and first with the Reds.
The Reds currently sit in last place in the NL Central and are likely to sell off most, if not all, of their valuable assets ahead of the August 2 trade deadline.
Drury is the latest Reds player to be named in trade rumors. Reds ace Luis Castillo has been a hot name on the rumor mill, linked to the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers and, most recently, the Houston Astros.
