Restraining-order hearing for Dodgers' Trevor Bauer pushed to Aug. 2

Los Angeles Dodgers ace and reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer is contesting a restraining order request linked with allegations of sexual assault that have had him on MLB paid administrative leave since July 2.

Per Steve Henson of The Los Angeles Times (Warning: Link includes graphic details about an alleged assault), attorneys from both sides agreed Friday to push the hearing back to Aug. 2. Additional dates for the proceedings are Aug. 3 and Aug. 19.

Henson added that Bauer and the woman who requested the restraining order were both in attendance Friday. TMZ Sports notes that Bauer's attorney said the 30-year-old starter won't answer any questions that could incriminate him if he's called to testify.

Bauer has denied any wrongdoing through his representatives and insisted the sexual encounters between the woman and him were "wholly consensual."

As of early Friday evening ET, Bauer's leave is set to run through Tuesday. It was previously reported he won't be eligible to return to the active roster as long as he remains under investigation by the Pasadena Police Department and MLB.

It's unknown if the Dodgers would welcome Bauer back if MLB did not extend his leave at some point this summer or fall.
