The move is retroactive to Monday.

In a corresponding move, the Rockies called up infielder Ezequiel Tovar from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Rodgers, 26, is batting .261 with 11 home runs and 61 RBIs on the season. He's in his fourth season with the Rockies since being selected No. 3 overall in the 2015 draft. He made his debut in May 2019.

Tovar, 21, has yet to appear in a major league game. He's batting .319 with 14 home runs and 49 RBIs in 71 games between Double-A Hartford and Albuquerque in 2022.
