According to a report from Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reliever Daysbel Hernandez has made the NLDS roster, but Jesse Chavez and Kyle Wright have not.

In Toscano's report ($), available only to subscribers, he says that "multiple people with knowledge of the situation" have confirmed that none of the trio of Jesse Chavez, Nick Anderson, and Kyle Wright have made the team's NLDS roster, which is due to MLB by 10AM on Saturday and can still change.

Wright's exclusion from the roster could mean good things for Bryce Elder, the subject of much speculation over the last week that he could potentially not get a game three start. AJ Smith-Shawver & Kyle Wright have piggybacked twice to great results, in the last week of the season against the Cubs and again this week during postseason workouts in Truist Park.

Elder's struggled since the All-Star Break, pitching to a 5.11 ERA. Manager Brian Snitker's acknowledged Elder's workload is a concern, with the starter sitting at 180.2 innings pitched in 2023, above last year's high of 159.)

For Hernandez, the relevant note about his inclusion is that not only does he have great velocity on his fastball (touching 97 in his brief summer call-up and reaching 98 in AAA Gwinnett), but he also hasn't pitched against Philadelphia this season, making it harder for Philly's hitters to prepare.

(Philadelphia has a similar dynamic with rookie reliever Orion Kerkering, who has made three MLB appearances, but none against Atlanta.)
