The Seattle Mariners beat the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night by a score of 9-7.

It was a wild game in which the Mariners blew a 5-1 lead, and then blew a 7-5 lead, before ultimately taking the lead for good.

The game-winning run was scored in the eighth inning when Mariners third baseman Eugenio Suarez singled up the middle to give the M's an 8-7 lead. Cal Raleigh homered in the ninth to make it 9-7 and Matt Brash locked down the save.

For Suarez, it was his tenth consecutive game with an RBI, which set a new record in franchise history.

Per @MarinersPR on social media:

Longest RBI streaks in @Mariners history:

10 G -- Eugenio Suárez (7/25/23-c)

9 G -- Edgar Martinez (8/12-8/20/95)

8 G -- 7 times (Bochte, Griffey Jr., Edgar, Ibañez, Beltré, Cruz, Seager)

Martinez is in the Hall of Fame and is one of the most revered players in Mariners history so passing him on any list is quite an accomplishment.

Suarez went 1-for-5 with that single and is now hitting .234 for the season. Though his average is down, his power has started to pick back up over the last month. He's got 16 home runs and 71 RBI for the season.

For his career, he's a .248 hitter with 240 home runs and 705 RBI. He's in his tenth big league season with the Tigers, Reds and Mariners. He was acquired by the Mariners before the 2022 season and helped lead the M's to the playoffs.

Seattle is getting closer to a second straight playoff berth. At 58-52, they are just 2.5 games back of the final wild card spot.
