After consecutive rough outings against the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners rookie right-hander Bryce Miller was back on track on Monday night in a win over the Miami Marlins.

Miller went six innings, allowing one hit and one run with three walks and six strikeouts. The Mariners won the game, 8-1, to move to 32-33 on the year.

The performance also helped Miller make a little baseball history.

Per ESPN Stats & Information on Twitter:

Bryce Miller has 4 starts with 6+ IP and 2 or less hits allowed through his first 8 career starts.

He is the 1st pitcher that debuted since at least 1893 (when the mound was moved to its current distance) to have 4 such starts within his first 8 games as a starting pitcher.

Even though Miller was roughed up in his previous two outings, Monday was a reminder of the kind of potential that Miller has.

He's now 4-3 on the season with a 4.06 ERA and has struck out 39 batters in 44.1 innings. He has a WHIP of 0.92. The 24-year-old is a former fourth-round pick (2021) out of Texas A&M.

In addition to the outing on the mound, the M's also got some much-needed offense. The team hit three home runs in the game, with shots coming from Ty France, Eugenio Suarez and Tom Murphy.

The loss dropped the Marlins to 37-30 on the season.

The two teams will play again on Tuesday night with George Kirby starting for Seattle against Edward Cabrera.

First pitch is 9:40 p.m. ET.
