Congratulations are in order for Seattle Mariners first baseman Ty France, who is going to be a dad!

His wife Magdalena made the announcement on social media saying:

"Our son, our double rainbow, our miracle. We feel so blessed to be welcoming Baby France in the Spring. Our favorite chapter is just getting started. Mom & Dad love you so much little one."

That's awesome news for one of the pillars of the Mariners' organization. The 29-year-old just wrapped up his third full season in Seattle after being traded to the Mariners in the COVID 2020 season.

France had a down year in 2023, hitting .250 with 12 homers and 58 RBI, but he's been a productive player the rest of his career. The M's certainly need him to get back to that player if they are going to improve on an 88-74 season which saw them miss the playoffs by one game.

Lifetime, he's a .270 hitter with 61 homers and 261 RBI. He is a great story, having been a 34th-round pick of the Padres in the 2015 draft. He played for the late Tony Gwynn in college at San Diego State.

Getting France recalibrated is one of several offseason needs for Seattle. They could stand to improve multiple spots on offense this season, namely second base and left field. They also may need to replace right fielder Teoscar Hernandez, who could leave in free agency.

The team hasn't decided yet whether or not they will offer him a qualifying offer to stay.

That's all for later in the offseason. Now, it's all about the France's! Congratulations!
