Opening Day is one of those days where something magical can happen.

It serves as the perfect date to kick off what everybody around baseball hopes will be a season to remember.

Though the Arizona Diamondbacks are likely not going anywhere in 2022, there was a nice moment at the end of the game that fans will remember for a long time.

Rookie DH Seth Beer won the game for the Diamondbacks against the San Diego Padres with a walk-off, three-run homer to right field.

But there was something even more special about it.

Thursday was “National Beer Day”.

How fitting.

Happy National Beer Day, Folks!

What better way to celebrate National Beer Day than for a guy whose last name is literally “Beer” to win it for your team on Opening Day?

Could anybody have scripted it any better?

The answer is likely no.

Nobody could have scripted it better.

You can’t make these things up.

Beer is a rookie of course, and this figures to be his first full season in the big leagues.

He sure kicked off the 2022 season in style, for himself, the Diamondbacks, and the fans at Chase Field, prompting the Diamondbacks color commentator to say, “get that man a beer”.

Get that man a beer indeed.

He gave fans an Opening Day to remember, leading the way as the Diamondbacks rallied to beat the Padres, a team with high expectations entering the 2022 season.

There’s no better way to end an Opening Day game than with a walk-off home run, especial on National Beer Day.

Diamondbacks fans will remember this moment for a long time and hopefully celebrate it on National Beer Day in 2023 and beyond.
