Six members of Carlos Correa's family were in San Francisco when Giants' press conference was postponed

On Thursday, Scott Boras provided more details surrounding the events of Carlos Correa's introductory press conference with the San Francisco Giants that never was.

Boras said that in addition to Correa being dressed and ready for his introduction to the Giants, a significant number of members of the infielder's family were also in a San Francisco hotel, waiting for the event to begin.

Boras -- the baseball super-agent who represents Correa and a bevy of other MLB stars -- was in New York on Thursday morning for starting pitcher Carlos Rodon's introductory press conference with the Yankees. Rodon, ironically, spent last season with the Giants.

While Correa won't be going to the Bay Area, he quickly found a new suitor in Steve Cohen's New York Mets. Boras told reporters that the two-time All-Star is taking his physical with the Mets on Thursday, there are no problems with the player's health "whatsoever," and the reported 12-year, $315 million deal with the Mets could be officially completed by Christmas on Sunday.

The 70-year-old also described how excited Correa was when he heard the news he would be playing in Queens, noting that the 28-year-old "tackled" him in celebration.

The former AL Rookie of the Year with the Houston Astros was scheduled to be introduced in San Francisco at 11 a.m. PT, but the event was postponed due to a reported "medical concern " with Correa's physical. HeĀ opted out of his three-year, $105.3 million contract with the Minnesota Twins in November and agreed to a 13-year, $350 million deal with San Francisco last week, subject to a physical.
