A WVU product will now get his chance to experience the “big leagues” in Major League Baseball. Due to an injury, the St. Louis Cardinals are adding to former Mountaineer Victor Scott II to their roster.

Cardinals center fielder Dylan Carlson will open the season on the injured list due to suffering a sprained AC joint in left shoulder, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today’s report about the Scott news.

Scott is coming off a 2023 MiLB season in which he was named an All-Star and earned a Gold Glove while becoming a star for the Springfield Cardinals.

In his first full minor league season, Scott hit .303, crushed nine home runs, recorded 63 RBI, stole 94 bases and posted a .794 OPS. He was at top of MiLB in stolen bases throughout most of the season, racking up 94.

Watch Scott explain how he ended up spending his college days at WVU in the post below.
