The Cleveland Guardians' rotation is starting to take shape. Shane Bieber made his first start of the spring on Saturday afternoon turning heads with his refound velocity. Then Tanner Bibee and Logan made starts on Sunday (split-squad) showing they picked up right where they left off.

Tanner Bibee

Bibee made his start against the Chicago Cubs where he threw 1.2 innings giving up three hits, two earned runs, issued one walk, and struck out three batters. The runs he gave up came on a LaMonte Wade Jr. homer in the first inning.

Bibee didn't debut any new pitches or changes in his windup. Coming into spring training, "I was just trying to get healthy again from last season. Trying to feel good and fine-tune some things but nothing too crazy." Looking ahead in camp, Bibee just wants to "get ahead, be more efficient, and have better fastball command will put me in a better place."

Logan Allen

Allen made his start for the other squad and he looked extremely sharp in his first outing of camp. The left-hander pitched 2.0 innings, issued just one walk, gave up no hits or runs, and struck out two batters.

This is a great sign as the Guardians are going to need Allen to be more intentional with his pitches this season. Last year he got into trouble with his pitch count because of hitters fouling off balls and keeping the at-bat alive.

If Allen can incorporate some more swing-and-miss, like he did on Sunday, he'll be a dangerous option in the back of Cleveland's rotation.
