This week was full of disappointment for much of the franchise, with only three of the five teams coming out of this week with a winning record. The Texas Rangers dropped both series at home, going 2-4, narrowly avoiding being swept by the Cleveland Guardians and Ron Washington’s Angels. The week’s highlights were the Round Rock Express, the Hickory Crawdads, and the Down East Wood Ducks, going 4-2, 5-2, and 5-1, respectively. The Frisco RoughRiders were 2-4 this week.

OF – Wyatt Langford – Texas Rangers

Wyatt Langford spent another week on the 10-day injured list. He was reported to have made the trip to the Surprise Spring Training Complex to begin his rehab assignment.

INF – Sebastian Walcott – Hickory Crawdads

Sebastian Walcott played in six of the seven scheduled games this week. He went 5-16 with five runs, five walks, and six strikeouts.

RHP – Brock Porter – ACL Rangers

Brock Porter was assigned to the ACL Rangers on April 27th and remains there for the time being. He did not appear in any of the games this week.

INF – Justin Foscue – Texas Rangers

Justin Foscue remains on the 60-day injured list with an oblique injury sustained while swinging for his first Major League hit.

INF – Abimelec Ortiz – Frisco RoughRiders

Abimelec Ortiz appeared in four of the six games for the Riders this week. He went 4-17 with two runs, one RBI, and four strikeouts.

INF – Davis Wendzel – Texas Rangers

Davis Wendzel did not appear in any of the six games that the Rangers played this week.

OF – Jonathan Ornelas – Round Rock Express

Jonathan Ornelas played in five of the six games this week. He went 5-16 with four runs, two RBIs, one walk and five strikeouts.

RHP – Jack Leiter – Texas Rangers

Jack Leiter was recalled to start the May 14th game against the Cleveland Guardians, where he went 1.2 innings and gave up three hits, six earned runs, three walks, one home run, and garnered only one strikeout. He was optioned back to Round Rock the following day.

RHP – Cole Winn – Texas Rangers

Cole Winn made one relief appearance for the Rangers this week. He pitched 1.1 innings of relief and gave up two hits, one earned run, no walks, one home run and garnered one strikeout.

INF – Cameron Cauley – Hickory Crawdads

Cameron Cauley appeared in five of seven scheduled games this week. He went 3-19 with one run, three walks and six strikeouts.
