Texas Rangers vs. Seattle Mariners Prediction

The Seattle Mariners battle the Texas Rangers taking place from Arlington, Texas, on Sunday afternoon for the final game of this four-game series. The Mariners are the hottest team in MLB and are looking to complete a four-game sweep on Sunday. Seattle has not lost in two weeks and will look to go into the All-Star Break with a fourteen-game win streak.

The Mariners are clicking on all cylinders right now as their pitching has been greatly combined with timely hitting. The Mariners now find themselves in a playoff position, something that seemed far-fetched two weeks ago. The AL West will be tough for the Mariners to win as Houston holds a 10-game lead in the West, but the American League Wild Card race should be outstanding all season long. Four to five teams will be fighting closely for those three spots for the rest of the summer.

Texas entered the year looking like they could be a dark horse type of team. They inked contracts with a pair of stars in Marcus Semien and Corey Seager. This is a team that has struggled to close out games, and they currently sit 6.5 games out of a playoff spot. They are still well within striking distance. Today the Mariners will send Chris Flexen to the mound. Opposing Flexen will be Glenn Otto.

I am backing Texas on the run line today as I believe this is what the line is saying. Despite winning thirteen games in a row and having the better arm on the mound, the Mariners are just a short favorite here today. This could be the perfect regression spot for Seattle. It is tough to sweep a team in a four-game series, and with the All-Star breaking starting tomorrow, we could see a lack of focus today from Seattle.

I expect Texas to be hungry today and do everything that they can do to avoid the sweep. The Rangers lineup should be able to get a few runs off of Flexen and keep this game tight enough to cash in. Let’s stay red hot on the diamond!
