To nobody’s surprise, Max Fried was named the Opening Day starter:
Fried is clearly the ace of this staff, even with the emergence of Spencer Strider. He’ll face a pretty bad Nationals lineup, so he’ll have a chance to get off to a strong start. The Nationals have probably been a little better than you would expect against Fried, with Max posting a 4.52 ERA against them. He’s allowed a career .749 OPS in their park, so hopefully that turns around as the Braves look to start the season off 1-0.
