The New York Mets busted out of the gates this year with a ton of talent on their roster and began winning a ton of ballgames.

Since the beginning of the season, the Mets have been in first place in the National League East division.

Right now, they sit seven games ahead of the defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves.

There are 50 games left in the season for New York.

Mike Puma of the New York Post tweeted an interesting fact, that just a 27-23 finish will get them to 100 wins on the season, which is a milestone they have not achieved since all the way back in 1988.

A Chance For History

This would be huge for the Mets and their fans.

The Mets haven’t truly been this dominant in the regular season since back in 2006.

That year, they made it all the way to the NLCS and took the St. Louis Cardinals to seven games before being knocked out.

They finished 97-65 that year, tied for the best record in all of baseball.

But at this rate, the Mets just have to go four games over the .500 mark in the final 50 games to achieve something that they have not achieved in over three decades.

The Mets currently have the best record of any of the teams in New York.

They sit at 73-39 right now, which is second best in the National League.

It’s been a fun season in Queens, and it could get even more fun if the Mets are able to reach 100 wins.

This season, they truly are a World Series contender and could very well make a deep run in October.

We’ll see if they can reach 100 wins, or potentially even more than that.
