2022 was a season to forget for the Cincinnati Reds, as they finished tied for last place in the NL Central with the Pittsburgh Pirates and lost 100 games.

There’s always next year.

But speaking of 2023, there is at least one thing to look forward to if you’re a fan of the Reds.

A former team legend is set to be inducted into the Reds’ Hall of Fame.

Longtime pitcher Bronson Arroyo was elected to the Reds’ Hall of Fame last week.

The right-hander was a workhorse in Cincinnati’s rotation for several years, going 108-100 with a 4.18 ERA and 14 complete games in 279 starts over two stints with the team from 2006-13 and 2017.

Reds To Honor A Legend

Arroyo might be best remembered for his days in Cincinnati.

The 45-year-old amassed a 148-137 record with a 4.28 career ERA over a 16-year career with the Reds, Pirates, Boston Red Sox, and Arizona Diamondbacks.

He ranks sixth in Reds history in strikeouts, tied for seventh in games started and 16th in innings pitched.

He is one of only two Reds pitchers to have won a Gold Glove Award.

Arroyo was also a part of the 2004 Red Sox team that broke the Curse of the Bambino, but he spent most of his career in Cincinnati.

Next year, the Reds and their fans will have a chance to honor a franchise legend as he’ll be enshrined in the Reds’ Hall of Fame.

Arroyo was a part of three postseason teams during his time with the Reds in 2010, 2012, and 2013.

Two of those years, the Reds won the National League Central.
