We start off today's day in Philadelphia Phillies history in 2008, where Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victorino were awarded Golden Glove awards.

For Rollins, he earned the award off of his fielding percentage of .988, which lead all shortstops in the MLB, as well as his range factor per game (4.44) which was ranked third amongst all shortstops in the MLB. This was Rollins' second straight Golden Glove award, making him the first Phillie to ever win consecutive Golden Glove awards. He would go on to win his third straight in the following season.

For Victorino, he earned the award because of his near-perfect fielding percentage of .994. This would be Victorino's first time winning the award but it wouldn't be his last. Following the 2008 season, Victorino would go on to win the award for the following two seasons.

Our second stop in Phillies History takes us to 2011, where Philadelphia signed free agent Jim Thome. He made his return to the club after he was traded to the Chicago White Sox in 2005.

Thome's first stint with the Phillies only lasted three years, but Thome was extremely efficient during his short stay, especially, on the offensive end. At the end of those three years, Thome had hit 97 home runs, brought in 266 RBIs, obtained a slugging percentage of .543, and a WAR of 8.0.

Although Thome's second stint with Philadelphia would be short-lived as on June 30, 2011, Thome would get traded to the Baltimore Orioles where he'd take the field for the last time before retiring a member of the Cleveland Indians in 2014.
