Three-time All-Star OF George Springer strongly considering Blue Jays?

Many teams are interested in signing free-agent outfielder George Springer, and the former World Series MVP is considering a couple notable options.

According to MLB Network's Jon Morosi, Springer has given "serious thought" to playing for the Toronto Blue Jays. He grew up in Connecticut and also is considering a destination closer to home in the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets.

The Blue Jays have been linked to a number of outfielders this offseason because they're looking to upgrade in center field. If they can't land Springer, Jackie Bradley Jr. may find himself in Toronto as the Blue Jays have shown interest in him, too.

In order to acquire Springer, the Blue Jays likely will have to trade one of Randal Grichuk, Teoscar Hernandez or Lourdes Gurriel Jr. given that the three-time All-Star is searching for a massive deal.

Springer is one of the top available free agents this offseason, so his pursuit of a larger deal isn't surprising. In seven seasons with the Houston Astros, the 31-year-old has hit .270 with 458 RBI, 174 home runs and 48 stolen bases.
