Trevor Bauer is already having run-ins with Dodgers fans. Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

Trevor Bauer is understandably thrilled to join the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers, but the star pitcher apparently is already having a problem with the team’s fans badgering him for autographs.

The reigning National League Cy Young Award winner signed with the Dodgers last week on a reported three-year deal worth $102 million following an interesting odyssey through free agency.

Bauer evidently is encountering an issue with persistent Dodgers fans, however, as he gets himself settled in L.A. It seems Dodgers backers really want his autograph. So much so that they are trailing him, much to his annoyance.

Taking to Twitter Wednesday, a peevish Bauer pleaded with Dodgers fans to give him some space.

Despite some early bumps in the road involving a few pushy fans, Bauer is eager to get his Dodgers career underway, as evidenced by a hype video he shared on social media shortly after to coming to terms on a deal with L.A.

Bauer is certainly no stranger to controversy when it comes to his social media activity, among other issues created by his outspoken personality and occasionally outrageous nature. On another front, a snafu by his camp led to the belief that Bauer was set to sign with the Mets, but he sincerely apologized for the confusion amid some strong backlash.

In other words, when it comes to Bauer, it’s always going to be interesting. One can only imagine what it’s going to be like having an enigmatic character like Bauer playing on the big stage of Los Angeles.
