Tuesday's MLB same-game parlay: Trust the Rangers

You know the old saying, "if it's ain't broke, don't fix it?" It applies to baseball betting too. Especially when one team is really bad.

In this case, that one really bad team is the Oakland Athletics. The A's are the worst team in the American League and are 2-9 over their last 11 games.

Even better news: the Rangers are 10-7 on the season against Oakland and starter Cole Ragans has allowed just one run over his last two starts.

Oakland's Ken Waldichuk has pitched well in his first two MLB starts, but he has yet to make it out of the fifth inning, and the A's have scored the second fewest runs in baseball. This game might be close for a while, but Texas has proven over the season that they're the better team.

And that leads us to our next leg, the under of 12.5 runs. Oakland has one of the worst offenses in Major League Baseball, and they're pitching has improved mightily since the beginning of the season. In fact, eight of their last 11 games have finished with a final score 12 or less total runs, and 11 of the 17 games between these two teams has finished with 12 or less runs.

As for Texas over 1.5 runs, that's our most confident leg in this SGP. The Rangers have scored at least two runs in 16 of their 17 games vs. the A's and have more than just a few hitters -- Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Adolis Garcia, Nathaniel Lowe, etc. -- who can go deep. The Rangers have hit the eighth-most homers and return home to one of baseball's most hitter-friendly stadiums in Globe Life Field on Tuesday.

Texas is far from a good team, but Oakland is just so bad, you'd be foolish not to put a little money on this SGP. You might be sweating this one till the end, but still, a win is a win.

The SGP: Texas over Oakland, Texas over 1.5 Runs & less than 12.5 Total Runs (+100 odds via DraftKings)
